RKC and Its Young Guests

It has only been a few months since the REX Group of Companies launched REX Knowledge Center (RKC) for further productivity in giving out their best books and other related products for their clients. It has only been a few days since the incoming Grade 12 students from the schools of Roman Catholic Bishop of Novaliches Educational System (RCBN-ES) started their Work Immersion Program (WIP) with the REX Group of Companies. Most of the students assigned to this said new work place never knew a REX Knowledge Center existed. This is why it would be interesting if we are to take a peek at what are circling inside their minds for being under the roof of the RKC.
A STEM student, Jhon Neri Palma, who is currently having his work immersion in REX Knowledge Center first thought that it would look just like a usual bookstore which only sells books like any other “bookstore” as he said. RKC also appears for him as a typical publishing house whose only activity is to produce lots of books and sell them.
For a student athlete of Good Shepherd Cathedral School (GSCS), Wed Perez  thinks that the Knowledge Center is like a comforting home after a five o’clock muscle-tearing training in the morning. Unlike on-the-job trainings in any other place, even though this immersion also keeps him busy, the atmosphere in his workplace, as what he said, is perfect for athletes like him who is also a student in need of experience before receiving his diploma. Mr. Perez also appreciates the regular associates’ understanding and patience in showing them how and what to do in their job and workplace.
A group of girls from a school in Novaliches, Quezon City, Ina ng Buhay, thought that our new facility could be compared to National Bookstore where one can buy stuff like books, stationary, pens, and the like. The girls gave positive reactions on their experiences while completing the eighty hours needed for their WIP. When asked if they were aware that there is another building aside from the REX’s main building they cracked a laugh and nodded.
Another student from GSCS, Kenneth Vergara, who was two days late from performing his WIP due to a summer escapade with his family in Bataan, asked his mates “What is it like being there guys?” His expectations contradicted with the answers of his friends. Mr Vergara pointed out that he thought this place would just be like a duplicate of the main building since he first saw it before the RKC but to his surprise the building has a great facility and a very comforting vibe.
For someone who is doing her WIP at the Supply Chain Management Department at the main building, Mai Abainza, another STEM student, sees the Knowledge Center like this, “akala ko parang ano siya, carbon copy ng National Library of the Philippines. Isang malaking library na punong puno ng libro pero may mga offices pala sila ng iba-ibang department tulad ng creative, publishing, marketing, and so on,” she said. She also gave a positive feedback on how the canteen fascinates her because she is usually seen taking her lunch with her friends knowing that she has to walk from the main building to RKC during the midday hotness of the sun.

Allowing these young minds under the care of Rex Knowldege Center is beneficial both for the students and the company. These future professionals knew that their future is no piece of cake because of RKC and because of them Knowledge Center and the REX Group of Companies managed again to accomplish a task believing that in everything they do, it will always will be “Para sa Bata.”
